Library Rules

The Library Board of Trustees of Carsonville Public Library has adopted the following rules in order to set a standard of acceptable behavior necessary for maintaining an appropriate public library atmosphere. Any person not abiding by these or other rules and regulations of the library shall be asked to leave the library premises. Conduct which constitutes a violation of these rules or the criminal laws of the State of Nebraska or City of Carsonville may result in a suspension or revocation of the individual's access to the library premises.

  1. Library users are expected to respect the rights of other persons and they are expected to behave in a manner that does not disturb other users. Library users are not to interfere with the use of the library by other persons, nor are they to interfere with the duties performed by library staff.

  2. Noise levels should be kept to normal conversation levels. If patrons are using headphones the sound should not audible to other patrons.

  3. Children under the age of six must be supervised by a person age 13 or older.

  4. Weapons are prohibited.

  5. Use of tobacco, alcohol, and drugs is prohibited.

  6. Consumption of food and beverages is prohibited. However, those holding events in the meeting room may serve refreshments during their activity.

  7. All patrons must wear shoes and shirts in the library.

  8. Only service animals are allowed in the library; pets are prohibited.

  9. The following are unaccepted uses of the library's computers and Internet access.

  10. Patrons must respect copyright laws. Library materials must be used in a       manner that honors and upholds copyright law. Use of library materials in
      manner that constitutes copyright infringement is prohibited.
